St Joseph’s Church
The present St Joseph’s Church — the largest in the parish — was opened in 1969. This unique church is the home of the Michael Smither Stations of the Cross and art works, and seats 600 Mass-goers. The church is in the centre of the city on the one-way system travelling north. We are a vibrant, diverse and welcoming community.
See the website calendar for weekly Mass times, which include Sunday morning and evening Masses, with weekday morning and some lunchtime Masses. Reconciliation and Adoration times are also in the online newsletter and website calendar. There is off-street parking, with nearby pay parking and time-limited free parking.

Our Lady Help of Christians
This church is situated at the end of Clinton Street in Fitzroy and is neighboured by St John Bosco School. We have a close relationship with the school. The parish was formed in 1951 and in 1957, after using a house and then the school for Sunday Mass, the present church of octagonal design was opened. The community at Our Lady Help of Christians is warm and friendly.
We celebrate a Vigil Mass each Saturday night and a Sunday morning Mass, and Mass on some days during the week, followed by rosary and Adoration. We have morning tea or Catholic Café after some of these Masses and everyone is welcome. There is off-road parking and some street-side parking. The church is just a short walk from Devon Street and the Fitzroy shopping centre.

Bell Block Catholic Centre
The Bell Block Catholic Centre was established in 1981 because of the vision and generosity of retired farmer, Jack Barry. He gifted land for a gathering place to celebrate Eucharist and build community, so the many older people and young families who were moving into the fast-growing area had a place to worship God and build relationships. Fr Wally Cooke originally nurtured the homely, caring and missional spirit that is the hallmark of our vibrant community today. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, our parishioners are actively involved in liturgy and pastoral outreach, and welcome people of all ages and cultures to walk beside us as disciples of Jesus.
Mass is celebrated on Saturdays at 9:30 AM (Anointing Mass) — see the weekly Mass table on the homepage for the current timetable. There is good off-street parking. Everyone is very welcome to join this community for Mass.

St Patrick’s Okato
In March 2026, the St Patrick’s community celebrated 145 years of Catholic presence in Okato. The current St Patrick’s Church replaced the smaller original church in 1896, and this building — with a steeply pitched roof, arched windows and exposed structural internal framing — still stands proudly today. Many couples who wish to be married in a more traditional setting with a long aisle are choosing St Patrick’s for their marriage ceremony.
Currently we celebrate a weekly Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings at 6.00pm. We encourage you to join us; parking is not an issue and there is plenty of seating!
